Available for Adoption!!
Occasionally we are asked to help find new homes for dogs in need. They each have their own story, but they all need new loving homes. Please take the time to read about them, and if there is anyway you could help out, please contact one of the Cedar Run staff for more info. Thanks!
We currently have Great Danes being boarded here through
Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue

Chinthe (pronounced Chindee or Chintae) is a beautiful 2 1/2 year old fawn female with natural ears. Chinthe is the name of the Far Eastern lion dog guard and was inspired by her regal beauty. She belonged to a 90 year old woman and her daughter who couldn't control her and allowed her free reign so she had not learned manners. We have found her to be a very quick learner, and while she had a long way to go she is making great strides. She walks gently on a leash, enjoys the company of humans and is well socialized. Chinthe, like many Dane puppies, is very high energy and powerful. She is headstrong and although she knows most commands, she chooses which ones she will ignore. She will challenge the human from a distance if she doesn't want to obey. She is very dominant and will attempt to assert dominance over humans and animals alike. She does not like being left alone and may get into mischief, but not damage anything, when left at home alone. Because she challenges all other dogs by jumping on the other dogs necks, she should be placed as an only dog. Chinthe is good with cats, but children are unknown. She is afraid of horses, cows and tractors. She loves to be outside, but only if a human is with her. Chinthe will only be placed in a Dane Savvy home and must attend obedience training. Chinthe came to MAGDRL in February 2008.
